13 mile Day Walk
Bath circular - Sub-Terra to Skyline

This is another opportunity to follow the route enjoyed by several people last year - I always enjoy walking it so can't resist offering it again! Other groups will also be invited this time.
From Sub-Terra to Skyline is a circular walk from Bath taking in a section of the Kennet & Avon Canal, travelling below ground and on high ground along the way.
We'll start from Bath Railway Station and cross over Bathwick Green with panaramic views of the city before continuing along part of the National Trust's Skyline route. Then it's a drop down to the Kennet & Avon Canal at Bathampton, where there will be a lunch stop. You can order food at the pub, or eat a packed lunch by the canal.
The canal will be followed for 4 miles, passing the famous Dundas Aqueduct on the way to Brassknocker Basin, where there will be the option of a refreshment & toilet stop. Then we'll leave the canal for the peaceful Midford Valley and ascend a steep flight of steps onto the Two Tunnels Greenway. After passing through the longest cycling tunnel in Britain, and as much as 300 feet below ground level, we will arrive back in urban Bath where we will descend back to the station. We can then stay a while in Bath before heading home.
The date has been chosen as one when Bath Rugby have an away fixture. You must email me using the mail link above to let me know you are interested in coming.
